Can’t import Lumix GH5s files into DaVinci Resolve 16
After upgrading DaVinci Resolve to its its newest version DaVinci Resolve 16 (2019), many people encounter problems when loading Lumix GH5s 4K H.265 file into DaVinci Resolve 16 as below:
1. Hi There, I have just downloaded the new update for DaVinci Resolve 16 from DaVinci Resolve 15 and now I can’t import anything containing my 4K H.265 files from the Panasonic Lumix GH5s. I have tried importing through the media browser and also from FILE. Does anyone have any idea? Many thanks.
2. DaVinci Resolve 16 crashes when importing .mov and .mp4 from Lumix GH5s…anyone else experience this?
Workaround for now: drag all .mov files into a folder without the associated meta data files.
Workflow of Lumix GH5s files with DaVinci Resolve 16
Although DaVinci Resolve 16 lets you work with 4K files directly from Canon, Panasonic, JVC, Sony camearas and cameras without file transcoding or wrapping. However, people still fail to load Lumix GH5s 4K MOV and MP4 files into DaVinci Resolve 16 due to some unknown reasons. It would be very time consuming for you to find out the reason by yourself. The best simple way is transcoding Lumix GH5s H.265 files to DaVinci Resolve 16 specially optimized QuickTime MOV video formats, so that you can directly import 4K H265 into DaVinci Resolve 16.

How to convert Lumix GH5s 4K H.265 files for DaVinci Resolve?
Step 1: Load Lumix GH5s files into the program.
Run H.265 to DaVinci Resolve Converter on your computer. On the main interface, click “Add File” or “Add from folder” button to the program.
Step 2: Choose DaVinci Resolve optimized file format.
Click “Format” drop-down bar to select a proper video format. To edit Lumix GH5s 4K H.265 videos in DaVinci Resolve 16, then 4K Video > 4K MOV Video (*.mov) is the suitable one.
